The Nasdaq Composite is shaking off a weekend hangover.
The tech-heavy index was up 0.7% after opening with a smaller gain. A wave of key earnings reports are due out in the weeks ahead, including Alphabet and Tesla on Wednesday.
The Nasdaq closed at a record on Friday, so any move higher would be a fresh closing high.
