None of the three big indexes marked a feat worth hailing on Friday: the S&P 500 closed flat, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished slightly lower, and the Nasdaq Composite ticked a smidge higher.
The index, which is made up 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, closed at 22,114.69, a new record. That figure smashed a previous record set on Dec. 16, 2024, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
