Stocks ended the week higher, despite a disappointing Friday session. Investors’ bullish fervor remains strong, as the full effect of President Trump’s return to the White House has yet to be determined.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 each closed down 0.3% on Friday, while the Nasdaq lost 0.5%. All three indexes, however, notched weekly gains.
The Dow ended this week 2.2% higher, following last week’s 3.7% gain. The index marked its biggest two-week gain since late 2022, and its first consecutive gain of 2% or more since July 2023.
