The stock market on Monday began one of the busiest weeks of the year so far hovering around record levels after President Donald Trump announced a trade deal with the European Union over the weekend.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 55 points, or 0.1%, after opening higher. The S&P 500 was up 0.1%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.3%.
The Dow ended last week about 112 points away from its first closing high since Dec. 4. The S&P and Nasdaq only need to move higher to add to their recent streaks of record closes. For the S&P, another record would mark its sixth in a row. It last pulled off such a streak in July of last year.
