Stocks Are Sliding as Trump Tariffs Raise Fears of Recession

Stocks tumbled to start the day on Thursday as markets reacted to President Donald Trump’s plans for steep global tariffs.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank 1,534 points, or 3.6% in Thursday morning trading. The S&P 500 slid 4.3%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.5%.

The yield on the 2-year Treasury note dropped to 3.74%. The 10-year yield was down to 4.02%.
