Lubbock Fine, a chartered accountancy firm based in the UK, has recently received certification as a “great place to work.”
This recognition highlights organisations that deliver an “exceptional” experience for their workforce.
Lubbock Fine COO Robert Morley said: “We are delighted to be given this certification. It is a testament to the expertise and leadership of our partners and their hard work to make Lubbock Fine a fun and rewarding place to work. We also believe it validates our decision to remain an independent firm.
“An increasing amount of promising young accountants are leaving accountancy firms which are undergoing investment by PE companies. We are proud to remain independent and offer a clear pathway to partnership from trainees upwards.”
Findings from the Great Place to Work survey revealed that over 90% of Lubbock Fine’s employees said it is a great place to work, in contrast to the 54% average reported by typical UK companies.
In addition to this certification, Lubbock Fine has been recognised as one of the ‘UK’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance.’
The firm attributed its emphasis on workplace culture to its “fiercely independent” status, which allows for clear pathways to partnership for junior and mid-level staff, particularly in light of the growing trend of private equity (PE) investment in the accountancy sector.
Maintaining independence has enabled Lubbock Fine to attract and retain talent, especially as professionals depart from firms that have undergone PE investment.
Survey results from Great Place to Work also indicated that 88% of Lubbock Fine employees feel encouraged to maintain a balance between their work and personal lives, while 94% express pride in their association with the firm.
Furthermore, 84% of employees indicated a desire to remain with Lubbock Fine long-term, with this figure rising to 90% among those aged 35-44.
Approximately 78% of staff said they believe that management actively seeks and considers their suggestions and ideas.
Lubbock Fine head of people Karen Foot said: “This title carries a great deal of weight and helps Lubbock Fine stand out amongst its peers. We invest a lot in building a strong company culture and having a “strong people first approach.
“We believe it is important that our junior and mid-level professionals are able to see a clear path ahead of them as they develop in their career.”
