HSBC appoints new global head of Investments and Managed Solutions

HSBC has appointed Sami Abouzahr as the global head of Investments and Managed Solutions for Wealth and Premier Solutions.

Based in Hong Kong, Abouzahr will oversee the bank’s global wealth product strategy, focusing on sustainable investment options, discretionary portfolio management, and alternative investment solutions for private banking and premier wealth clients worldwide.

In addition to his new role, he will lead the Ultra High Net Worth Solutions Group, aiming to enhance the experience for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, and entrepreneurs globally.

Abouzahr currently serves as the head of Wealth and Premier Solutions in Hong Kong and will maintain this position until a successor is appointed.

His career in financial services includes senior roles across HSBC’s operations in Hong Kong, mainland China, and the UK, encompassing wealth management, asset management, and wholesale banking.

HSBC Wealth and Premier Solutions head Lavanya Chari said: “We have been advising our clients to diversify their investment portfolios to mitigate risks amid market uncertainties.

“This appointment will reinforce the implementation of our market insights to guide our clients in accessing investment opportunities across regions, sectors and asset classes.

“I’m confident that Sami will continuously instil our client-centric ethos when developing and delivering innovative solutions to help our clients realise their ambitions along their wealth journey, from growing to passing on their wealth to the next generation.”

Last month, SBC Global Private Banking (HSBC GPB) appointed Ann Ling as the regional head of wealth planning and advisory for Asia Pacific.

Ling brings over 20 years of financial services experience and currently leads the wealth planning team for Hong Kong, the Philippines, and international markets at HSBC.
