MassMutual has partnered with wealthtech solutions provider Orion to introduce a new Wealth Management Solutions (WMS)-Orion platform.
This initiative aims to deliver a cohesive and adaptable technology and investment experience to MassMutual’s network of more than 6,500 affiliated financial professionals across the US.
The WMS-Orion platform consolidates vital functions for advisors into a singular, integrated solution.
It offers an integrated advisor experience that facilitates seamless workflows across various functions such as financial planning, proposal generation, portfolio management, and risk intelligence.
Additionally, it provides expanded investment access through personalised solutions, including Core Select, which allows for the creation of custom unified managed accounts (UMAs) using curated strategies from top investment managers.
The platform also features Wealth Advisory, a service for high-net-worth clients, which will soon incorporate an options overlay.
It is said to leverage Orion’s team of more than 50 sales professionals and dedicated support services.
Advisors are said to have the ability to influence portfolio construction, including the customisation of models and the tailoring of strategies to meet client requirements.
Orion Wealth Management president Ron Pruitt said: “By combining Orion’s powerful technology with MassMutual’s strategic vision, we’ve created an end-to-end solution that removes friction, expands investment flexibility, and provides high-touch support every step of the way.”
The WMS-Orion platform is accessible to financial advisors affiliated with MML Investors Services (MML), which is MassMutual’s independent broker/dealer and investment adviser subsidiary.
As of the end of 2024, MML Investors Services manages $274bn in client assets.
MML advisors provide a diverse array of services, encompassing financial planning, wealth management, retirement planning, and insurance solutions.
They will assist clients with estate planning, efficient wealth transfers, and business solutions such as key employee benefits and succession planning.
MassMutual wealth management head Vaughn Bowman said: “This new platform reflects that commitment, offering a flexible, integrated solution that aligns with how our advisors do business today and how they want to grow tomorrow.”
